This drawing started by changing the pose of a photo of a baby I found with zFlick. After pencilling, I inked the inner lines with a fineliner pen, and the outer lines with a 0.7 mm rollerball pen. After scanning and cleaning up, I colored the drawing digitally in several layers. The analog portion lasted an hour, and the digital portion a bit less than two hours.
I’m quite pleased with the result.

When I finished this sketch, I suddenly saw what was wrong with it. The left eye is too far to the right in the face. Ah well, the process of creating this kind of drawing is worth while the effort anyway.

This sketch is based on a photo, but drawn from another position and pose. It is also an inked sketch, which I digitally colored with cel shading (often used in animation). Apart from the position of the features, this drawing is completely made from imagination.
