Introducing: Art & Story Supreme

Warm-up sketch for March 23, 2010

23 Mar

I did another daily recording of my warm-up sketch on my Ustream channel Draw, draw, draw!

Today another cute kitten sketch, but with (perhaps) some noise in the background (for me at least). A glass repair company had decided to repair a window on the fourth floor, which required a huge crane vehicle, producing the mentioned noise.

It figures that minutes after I stopped recording, the crane vehicle people decided to stop as well. Here’s a quick snapshot of that loud piece of machinery.

Warm-up sketch for March 22, 2010

22 Mar

I did another daily recording of my warm-up sketch on my Ustream channel Draw, draw, draw!

Today quite some changes. I’ve started using my MSI wind U90 netbook for streaming, just because I’m less tied to one location. Next I’ll try to be more consistent when I do this live streaming, on weekdays, 10 AM CET (9 AM GMT). And then there is the subject, which isn’t the blue Abyssinian cat, but a drawing of a kitten I found in a book on drawing cats.

Pencilcast 03/20/2010 2:00PM

21 Mar

I did another T-Rex drawing, only this time much more cartoony. I used ink and gouache paint.

I finished the painting off-camera, doing some retouches, painting the background and re-inking the outlines.

And BTW I’ve decided not to enter in the art sale, as I suggested in the video. I need lots more experience before I’m willing to put my art up for sale.

Testing Pentel water brush

19 Mar

Today I received a Pentel water brush over the mail (I ordered it abroad). It is basically a brush with a water container. This means you don’t have to dip in your brush into water in order to clean it and you can be far more economical with your water when you’re on the go.

I used gouache paint to do the coloring. Afterwards I inked the painting with a Pentel color brush pen. Unfortunately, I made some mistakes while inking. Since it was just a test, it really doesn’t matter, but I mention it anyway.
