Drawing Unknown Faces, part 7

2 Apr

They sure had a lot of fun in the moment that picture was taken. The lower drawing wasn’t so good. It was supposed to be a young women, but I guess the sketch was already too full of merry men to have enough room for a smiling woman.

I grabbed the photo from the Flicker public timeline, a great place to find photos for inspiration to draw.

Drawing Unknown Faces, part 6

A little boy walking on his own through the streets. Is he told by his mother to get some groceries, is he playing hooky, or what? Who’s to tell?

I had some problems with drawing the larger head, until I realized that the forehead and chin are in the same plane, and the eyes are much lower in the face than in adults.

Some poses are much harder to draw than others, that is the only thing I can say to myself when I see the result of this drawing exercise.

Drawing Unknown Faces, part 5, attemp 1

This is supposed to be a pretty young lady laughing, but it doesn’t resemble her even a bit. This prompted me to study how her face was built. I drew a rectangle for her head and face.

Alas, that wasn’t quite it. So I went to get some groceries and an hour later, I tried again.

It aren’t just her lips, her eyes aren’t quite right as well. I guess I simply have to give up on this one and go to the next one. I hate to admit it, but the model has beaten me with her pose.

For now.

That is all.

It’s that time of year again, Easter is coming. Babies are dressed like bunnies, if they like it or not. I wonder if they infant is grown up, (s)he still thinks it’s cute. I guess parent do whatever it takes to make their children look even cuter than they already are.

Ah well, we’ve all been there, don’t we? I mean being put in some costume without being asked.

I love the pose in this image. It’s like she in some kind of trance.
