Krishna Sadasivam

1 Dec

This portrait is based on this picture on Flickr. It is Krishna Sadasivam, the maker of PC Weenies, the web comic for tech enthusiasts.

The drawing was made on regular printing paper with an HB pencil, an eraser, and my finger. After initially creating the drawing, I saw the forehead was too low and had to redraw the upper part of the head.

That is all.

Beardus Maximus fan art, day 21

Three weeks of fan art and it has come to this… Crocodiles with staches. Ah well, as long as you go to pcweenies.com and consider buying the comic book Rebootus Maximus it’s all good.

What have a troll, an elf and a dinosaur in common? No idea, but it was an idea that cropped up in my mind when I thought of fan art for Rebootus Maximus, the comic book with strips from PC Weenies, a web comic made by Krishna Sadasivam.

Krishna has picked up the challenge from his fellow cartoonists to grow a beard. For every copy of Rebootus Maximus that is purchased via his website, he will delay the shaving by one day. See also the blog post with his pledge, and the blog post which shows how much days still remain (Beardus Maximus Progress Meter).

To support the artist I decided to draw a comic that has either something to do with beards or with PC Weenies, for as long as there’s a hobo in the making on Krishna’s firm chin. This both gives me the opportunity to give something back to the artist, and to improve my skills as a comics creator.

That is all.

Robot Cockroaches. What possibly go wrong there?

16 Oct

I found this article on CNet about robot cockroaches that can be dropped from a great height without being affected. This inspired me to create a cartoon with Bob Weiner from The PC Weenies and Doc Brown from Back To The Future, as a spoof on both.

This cartoon was made for one purpose only, to safe Krishna’s beard. Read this blog post for more information.

It explains the facial hair additions to the characters. If a comics creator is prepared to grow a beard to promote his comic book, I guess anything goes.
